The UNWTO.Themis Foundation, in collaboration with The George Washington University, is launching the 2017 University ONSITE Course on “Tourism as a Path to International Cooperation & Sustainable Development”. This intensive course trains university graduates, industry professionals and government official in subject areas related to international cooperation and development through tourism. The course will be held in English, starting from 5 - 10 November 2017 at the George Washington University, Washington DC, USA.

 

Tourism as a Path to International Cooperation and Sustainable Development is a professional development programme that consists of complementary, yet stand alone, online and onsite courses.

 

The ONSITE Course equips university graduates , industry professionals and government officials with the latest insights and innovations in the field of tourism for sustainable development. Participants are exposed to lectures from industry experts, partake in a series of visits to key tourism and development organizations, and complete real-world field assignment. Participants are paired with industry professionals who provide mentoring, coaching and personalized feedback throughout the programme. Ultimately, the onsite course offers participants with unique opportunities to gain new knowledge and skills while networking with peers and tourism leaders from around the world.

 

This University Course has the fourfold objective of: (a) providing participants with the latest knowledge and tools for leveraging tourism as a tool for economic and social development; (b) to apply the latest trends and models for sustainable tourism governance and destination management; (c) explore the role of technological advances in tourism development and product innovation: and (d) develop practical strategies for attaching sustainable investment in tourism destinations.

 

 

REGISTRATION & REQUIREMENTS

Candidates presented for the University Course on Tourism as a Path to International Cooperation & Sustainable Development” willing to apply for the course should be university graduates, industry professionals or government officials from disciplines relevant to tourism and interested in planning international cooperation and sustainable development projects related to tourism.

Candidates should have an excellent command of English, as the Course will be conducted in this language.

COURSE FEES

The Onsite Course fee is $1,650 USD.
